Hello, my name is Anwen. I am the Registered Manager here at Valley Lodge.
I started working here in 2016 as a care assistant. I have been lucky to have been provided with great opportunities to advance my career within the group over time, which has enabled me to understand all aspects of the organisation.
I am passionate about working with the elderly, and I am focused on providing the best possible care for them. It is wonderful to work with such a fantastic team, with the emphasis being on providing a high standard of care and promoting a fulfilling life for all our residents.
Here at Valley Lodge, we are all committed to creating a happy, friendly atmosphere for all residents, with the level of support they need at this stage of their lives.
I feel it is important to offer support to families as well as the residents, and we aim to provide a home-from-home feel for everyone. We welcome anyone looking for care for themselves or a loved one to pop in for a chat.
I started in the laundry in 2017, then progressed into care at 18. I progressed through as a care assistant, senior carer and as of 2026, the deputy manager.
I have a Level 3 in Health and Social Care, and I’m currently working towards my Level 4.
I have also completed trainer training on manual handling and challenging behaviour and will be delivering this training to the staff.
I pride myself on the compassion and empathy I show our residents. I pride myself on being approachable and always putting every single resident at the centre of everything that I do.
The most rewarding part of my job is building trusting, meaningful relationships with each resident. I believe each resident deserves to be respected and valued, as well as cared for as an individual.
One of the many things I pride myself on is that the Valley Lodge family will always go above and beyond to ensure every resident is happy and their wishes and needs are always met. Here, we pride ourselves on the fact that we are always attentive to each resident, and nothing here is ever too much for us to deal with; even the smallest gestures can make a huge difference to someone’s day.
